Thank God that's ovah! Man, my first *real* week on WW was a bitch! Looks like my stomach, attitude and mood swings have all had time to adjust. So far today, I haven't had a "hobbit style" approach to eating. You know, with a second breakfast? I'll spare you the details of my menu selections, but I ate sensibly enough to keep me satisfied until my 11:00 a.m. yogurt break.Onto less snooze-worthy topics... As most of you know, I need a fire lit under my ass before I'm prompted to action. I guess you could call me an adrenaline junkie. I thrive on it. Let's call it good stress. A challenge so to speak. You get the point. I do SO much better on the weight loss front when I have an event coming up --wedding, date, party, vacation, etc. I always feel so motivated to reach a goal, mostly because I want to look good. I hinted last week that I have something coming up that I wanted to blog about... So now the Big Reveal while remaining vague:
This summer I'll be traveling to an area of the States that has been severely damaged by Mother Nature to help rebuild. I'll be going as part of a huge Hab!tat 4 Hum@nity group. Now you might be thinking, okay, I still don't see your point. Well, let me break it down for you:
Summer weather + Southern United States + major humidity + my chub + manual labor = heat stroke.
There are several things I'd like to accomplish in this lifetime, and having a heat stroke ain't one of 'em! So I'm trying to get the chunkage under control so I'll have a great AND productive trip. Sure, there will be times when I'll be lounging with the gang down at the hotel pool, and I'll want to look great for that. But at this point in life, I'm more worried about not overheating vs looking good.
Consider the ass fire lit.

Oh, well, at least it'll be for a good cause.
But it can't be all that bad. There are lots of us fatties who live in hot humid climes all year long.
Best wishes
Heat stroke is wicked. I've spent a fair amount of time is terribly hot places (Africa for one) and while I haven't experienced it myself, I've had to take care of a lot of kids who get it. ROUGH. Definitely take care of yourself!
Good for you!!
If you swing by Houston, let me know. We can get a drink. :)
sparkling water, of course. ;)
Wow, that's awesome :) I know the hating on hot weather feeling, so whatever it takes to motivate you is good :)
